Ian Osborn welcomed as experienced commercial property partner

Wosskow Brown Celebrates Appointment of Commercial Property Partner

Forward-thinking regional practice bolsters commercial property offering amid strategic growth with appointment of experienced new partner, Ian Osborn

Seeking to continue with and maintain momentum in its ambitious practice development and expansion plans, Wosskow Brown Solicitors has appointed Ian Osborn as new partner and Head of Commercial Property.  The appointment will see a rapid enhancement of the firm’s commercial property department – with the department set to grow in size and service offering – and is the first at partner level since 2018.

Ian comes from an established background of diverse and challenging commercial property experience, having represented a myriad of clients. Ranging from charitable organisations, commercial landlords and tenants, developers, high-street and specialist lenders, SIPP/SASS corporate trustees, SME unincorporated business – and many more.  Cutting his teeth on comprehensive leasehold matters, including assignments, grants, surrenders, sub-leases and variations, Ian has accrued concise and focused knowledge with regards to freehold/leasehold property leasing, purchase and sale, high-value secured facilities or re-financing products and site acquisition and disposal.

Ian’s primary objective will be to strengthen the existing commercial property department, through a targeted strategy of both enhancements in the scope and pricing of legal service delivery and growth in department size.  The firm are seeking to strengthen the legal offering across the wider Barnsley and Sheffield area and Ian shall initially split his time between the two regions, as he seeks to widen Wosskow Brown’s network of agents, clients and professional connections.

Legal Experience & Entrepreneurial Drive

Commenting on the appointment, Managing Partner Ian Brown said:  “We really are delighted that Ian has chosen to come on-board. He has precisely the focused blend of legal experience and entrepreneurial drive that Wosskow Brown focuses on in pressing practice development.  Ian’s appointment, together with recent departmental recruitment of legal assistant Brogan Ward and the impending appointment of a new trainee solicitor, guarantees that, as we expand, our clients can maintain their expectations of proactive, first-class support.”

Founding partner Michael Wosskow added:  “As a well-known law firm with an established history of client-focused solutions, we were keen to find a fellow partner who would be the ‘right fit’ within our culture, to promote our growth and our positioning as a leading commercial law firm.  Ian ticks the boxes extremely well and we look forward to introducing him to our clients.”

Ian Osborn says:  “Having reached the zenith of my prior experience, I certainly aspired to a partnership-level appointment, in which I could both develop the manner in which scoped, targeted legal services were offered and the way in which they were priced.  The opportunity at Wosskow Brown to take up the reigns of an already-established and accomplished department, with a view to driving forward capability, efficiency, growth and personnel was simply too promising to overlook.  I am excited to join the partnership and look forward to being a key part of the firm’s structure and expansion”.
