Wosskow Brown Selects SCCCC as Charity Partner for 2022

Wosskow Brown Solicitors are delighted to announce a New Year charity partnership with SCCCC, helping them wherever we can to reach out and support older people in the local community.

Who are SCCCC?

SCCCC is a local volunteer organisation that works closely with the statutory agencies in Sheffield. They provide a network of support for mainly older people, their carers and their families. Most of SCCCC’s work helps older people in their own homes and they can also support them if they are admitted to or discharged from hospital or living in a residential home.

SCCCC delivers its services by working in co-operation with:

  • the individuals who use their services
  • the carers and families of people they help
  • Health and Social Service staff in the hospitals and the community
  • volunteers across the city
  • partners in the local churches and other voluntary organisations

What they do

Their main programs and focus are currently:

A shared vision of improving wellbeing and quality of life for older and vulnerable people

Here at Wosskow Brown, we have been inspired by the commitment shown by SCCCC’s staff and all of their volunteers. We want to show them off and get their name out there as much as possible so they can help improve the lives of even more vulnerable people.

The incredible work that they do would not be possible if it wasn’t for the donations and a large number of volunteers. We all must do our bit, to allow them to carry on growing.

How we will be helping

We will be supporting SCCCC throughout the year through various fundraising activities and events. Such as our monthly dress down days, where everybody in our offices shall be encouraged to make a small donation to come into work casually dressed.

We also plan on working together with SCCCC to arrange and join in with their fundraising activities (watch this space).

As well as financial donations, we shall also be encouraging our staff to get involved with active volunteering. Whether that be giving up their time to volunteer for the ‘Good Neighbours Scheme’ or helping out to spread the word about this incredible organisation.

What can I do to help?

There are several ways you can also help including:

Volunteering your time

You can get in touch with SCCCC and speak about how a small amount of your time can go a long way. Taking part in their ‘Good Neighbours Schemeeffield area for a chat, a brew, and a biscuit. This is not only super important for the older person to have, but can also be extremely rewarding for you as a volunteer.

Fundraising at home or work

Want to take part in a crazy fundraising activity? A Skydive, A sponsored walk, or maybe a wet sponge throw there are lots of different ways you can raise money whilst having fun either at home, work, or school.

Making a donation either now or leaving a gift in your Will

If you don’t have the time to actively volunteer but still want to help out, you can leave a cash donation, either now or it can be left as a legacy in your Will. If you don’t yet have a Will, then we can help you with this, https://www.wosskowbrown.co.uk/helping-you/wills-trusts/. However, if you already have a Will, don’t worry, we can either amend your current Will with a Codicil, or write out a new Will with your up-to-date wishes.

Talk to our Wills and Trusts planners to book in for a free Will review.
