Sally was born and educated in Sheffield. She obtained an LLB Hons from Sheffield Hallam University in 2000 and completed her Legal Practice Course at Sheffield University in 2001.
Before starting her legal career, Sally worked in various retail outlets which gave her an invaluable insight into customer care and client relations. She also undertook a varied work experience programme which included a placement with South Yorkshire's Coroner, whom she credits for setting her on the path of applying for a job at Wosskow Brown with his advice to apply to those firms who featured at the end of the legal section in the yellow pages as opposed to the beginning!
Sally joined Wosskow Brown in 2000 on a work experience programme and acted as the office junior undertaking administrative duties in the uninsured loss recovery department. She was trained by Michelle Hadley – who is now one of Sally’s team.
After qualifying as a solicitor in 2003, she moved quickly to become head of the personal injury department in 2006 and a partner shortly thereafter when Wosskow Brown formed its Limited Liability Partnership.
Sally is assisted in the running of the personal injury department by Jeff Knibb, who is now a consultant at Wosskow Brown, and she credits the success of the department to their formidable combination of skills. Her dedication, organisational strengths and willingness to grasp new ideas, combined with Jeff’s knowledge and experience of the industry have been the driving factors in what is now a thriving and successful personal injury department.
Sally specialises predominantly in high value injury claims arising from road traffic accidents, but also deals with personal injury work involving low velocity (LVI) claims, allegations of fraud, credit hire, Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims and infant settlements.
Sally will celebrate 10 years’ full service with Wosskow Brown in July 2011, during which time she has become accredited as a senior litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Personal Injury Panel, and a member of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS).
Sally manages to combine her clearly busy professional life with her role as a mother of 2 young boys, age 5 years and 18 months, and whilst she did manage a bungee jump for charity in 2009, there is definitely little time for any other hobbies at the moment!
