Social media in the work place

The phenomenal growth of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Linked in is creating a headache for businesses.  Is social networking a drain on business resources or is it a valuable social and business networking platform that allows access to an audience that the business would not normall be visible to?  Please see below our article that was published in The Sheffield Telegraph on 30 June 2011.
