Wosskow Brown takes on the Sharks
Wosskow Brown takes on the Sheffield Sharks
Starting this week, Wosskow Brown have entered into a brand new sponsorship commitment with the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club. This freshly inked deal will span over the next two seasons.
The Sharks have just entered into their 20th season of premier league basketball and are one of the most successful teams in the history of the British Basketball League (BBL).
Sharks’ Chairman, Yuri Matischen feels the fit is perfect for both parties.
“In meeting the senior executives of Wosskow Brown, it was clear that this was not your traditional law firm and there was a great team ethos within the organisation that appreciated the qualities of top sportsmen and women and how their skills can be successfully transferred into the business environment.”
This innovative relationship only strengthens the fact that Wosskow Brown know and love sports. Not only are we experts in Sports Law but also host a range of keen sportsman/athletes on our staff.
An addition to Wosskow Brown’s staff will be Shark’s stand-out player and Captain Mike Tuck. The 6’7’’ power forward will be taking on a marketing and promotional role within Wosskow Brown. A native of Canada, Mike has represented both Canada and England on an international level and has been with the Sharks since 2009.
“The opportunity personally and the partnership strategically will be awesome!” exclaimed Mike Tuck. “I studied Marketing while at university and have done a lot of work for the club. My style is a no nonsense approach, hard-working, and being part of a successful team, which seems to fit well at Wosskow Brown,” added Tuck.
Ian Brown, our Managing Director, is thrilled with the acquisition of Tuck in this unique sponsorship deal and looking forward to the company’s dynamic approach to building new business relationships.
“Mike Tuck and the Sharks are our highest and tallest profile acquisition in the business. But as a company we support many young talented athletes from around the region, including equestrianism, speedway, cycling, boxing and triathlon. We love the positivity of these young people who also are keen to mix their sporting careers with a working future. In Mike, we have a seasoned professional who can lead and mentor many of our young athletes, but also be a motivator for our staff, our key corporate asset.”
The Sharks play all of their home games at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Attercliffe (across from ICE Sheffield). Coleridge Road, S9 5DA.
Their next home match is this Friday 7th November at 7:30pm v. Newcastle Eagles.
