Sheffield's Basketball Law Firm
Wosskow Brown bounces into new sponsorship deal
Wosskow Brown Solicitors are proud to announce a new sponsorship deal with one of the most successful sporting clubs in the region, the Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.
The Hatters are a professional women’s basketball club that were formed in the early 1960’s making them the oldest women’s basketball team in England. Since then they have become the most dominant women’s team in the country winning a total of 55 National titles.
The deal makes Wosskow Brown, Sheffield’s legal basketball firm as they have already been a key sponsor for the DBL Sharks, Sheffield’s men’s pro team, for the past few seasons. Managing Partner, Ian Brown, thinks this new sponsorship will be a great fit,
‘We are big fans of sport at our firm and since becoming involved with the Sharks we have grown to really love basketball! Such a fast paced, action packed game that you can bring the whole family down to. It is fantastic to support not only another basketball team in Sheffield but historically one of the most successful in the country.’
Over the years the firm has been involved in many sports from boxing to cycle speedway to equestrian but has also hosted a range of keen sportsman/athletes in their staff. The firm also hosts its own Sports Law department which deals with a various of legal issues that arise in the sporting world. Find out more by visiting: www.wosskowbrown.co.uk/sports-law
Betty Codona OBE, Chair of the Hatters, also feels this new sponsorship will work well,
'It's great to have Wosskow Brown on board as a sponsor. They are a company that has a lot of experience with sport and sports clubs. Basketball is a world wide sport which is not often recognised as such in this country, to have a company like WB get behind it is wonderful to see. This year women's basketball has been back on TV and getting the recognition it deserves hopefully the TV coverage will give the sport some more profile.'
The Hatters will meet the Manchester Mystics in the first round quarter-final of the playoffs this Saturday, 29th April 7pm in Manchester. On the men’s side, the Sharks, will also be entering the quarter-finals as they take on the Worcester Wolves Friday, 28th April 7:30pm at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield.
